Music by Nino Rota and Carmine Coppola
In this gangster-crime movie suite from 1974 we are presented with singular clarinets, flutes and cornets before the orchestra fires up with sweeping strings filled with pain, longing and hope. Utilizing many of the same themes introduced in The Godfather, the composers carry on with some new cues that expand their canvas and ultimately garnered them an Academy Award for best Dramatic Score.
