In this recent remake from 2012, we are visited by a percussion filled explosion of cues and themes that sound similar to one another, but do not really fit the idea of a movie suite. Taken with that in mind, we have a suite composed by the prolific Mr. Djawadi (Game of Thrones, etc.) that takes us on a fast moving journey with electric guitars, synthesizers, a nervous orchestra and of course, drums. Considered by the experts as one of the top two movie suites by Mr. North (the other one being Spartacus), we have a pristine example of the art from one of the premier artists of the 40's and 50's. Almost three hours of music has been whipped into two distinctive suites. The first part covers the meeting and love story of Julius Ceasar and Cleopatra, while the second part begins with Cleopatra entering into Rome, the fall of Ceasar and the doomed love story of Antony and Cleopatra. With a timing of 21:46 for Part 1 and 25:25 for Part 2, there is still a plethora of epic music to listen to. I hope you enjoy!  -MJ

Without judging the merits of the drama, this music infuses us with the you-R-there experience that helps to whisk on away from our daily lives to a new time and place we rarely visit. HAPPY HOLIDAYS

Well, if you've made any attempts to download one of these movie suites from Mediafire, you will note that my account has been suspended. Many emails and phone calls later, it is obvious that they will not reinstate. Some of the Deposit files are still valid to download, but they only hold files for a maximum of 90 days. Guess I'll find another file site, but unfortunately, that probably will not happen until 2013, although I'm still hoping for a miracle. We'll see. In this recent show of restraint from Mr. Williams, we are reminded that a movie suite can be filled with a single purpose and with that clarity comes great success both in the form of composition as well as enjoyment. Most of the score was filled with numerous solos from a lone trumpet, violin or piano taking the lead, yet once the orchestra breaks away from those singular constraints we are left with an excellent suite that I know you'll enjoy. Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter Suite

This recent foray from 2012 reminds us that a tightly constructed movie suite can be woven even with the help of electronic elements. Although similar in sound to so many other composers working out there today, Mr. Jackman delivers an entertaining departure from the life of the mundane.The cues flow nicely together and I find that this suite is great to listen to in the enclosed spaces of a car or with headphones.
