Doctor Zhivago Movie Suite
Music by Maurice Jarre
This classic award winner from 1965 has the sound of olde Russia with the strings of a singing balalaika that merges into the orchestral cues. The main theme of this suite meanders in and out as it starts and stops many times. Okay, it is a bit repetitious, but you can't help but forgive Mr. Jarre since he was composing his score in the accepted fashion of the day. If you have never heard this, give it a listen.
